ihanna is set to hit the big screen yet again to star alongside Cara Delevingne in a role that is sure to be an interesting one! This past week infamous sci-fi director Luc Besson announced that Rihanna would be joining the cast of his new sci-fi themed comic book movie Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

Although we've been able to witness Rihanna in action on the big screen a time or two (she was the voice of Tucci in the kids movie HOME), we've yet to see Rihanna playing any roles within the sci-fi realm. That is, until now! According to Rolling Stone, this past week Besson, the genius behind hit sci-fi movies like The Fifth Element, announced via Instagram that Rihanna would be joining the cast for his new sci-fi movie.

According to The Daily Star, the film is an adaptation of Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres' 1960's comic book series Valérian. As for the story line, The Daily Star went on to say that the movie focuses on Valérian, a "temperoral agent." He and his partner Laureline who travel together through time and space and essentially kick some serious butt in order to insure that the earth is kept safe from rogue time travelling threats.

Although we've yet to get any tips on what role Rihanna will be playing, we do know that Dane Dehaan was cast in the part of Valerian along with Delevinge as Laureline and Clive Owen as Commander Arün Filitt. Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets is currently in pre-production for now, but will be making its way to theaters in 2017.
