'Love Don't Cost a Thing' Star, Christina Milian Speaks Out Following Sam Sarpong's Suicide

MStars News has learned that some of the cast members of Love Don't Cost a Thing is speaking out after news broke that actor, and model, Sam Sarpong committed suicide on Monday, October 26. One of the stars of the 2003 film, Christina Milian wrote a message to pay tribute to the trouble actor.

In an Instagram post, Milian said: "My condolences to the family of Sam Sarpong. Be at peace knowing he was always in high spirits, had lots of friends who love him and was an overall good person- filled with positive energy, Respectful and had a standout personality."

The singer, who just announced her split from rapper Lil Wayne added, "Im blessed to have worked with him and became friends while shooting "Love Dont Cost A thing" and I'm thankful for somehow being able to see his smile again after so long when he came to support me at lafw just a week ago. I'm saddened by the loss and I pray he rest among the angels. Rest Peacefully Sam."

Milian wasn't the only co-star from the film, Love Don't Cost a Thing to speak out after Sarpong's apparent suicide. Nick Cannon, who played Milian's love interest also shared some images of his moments with Sarpong and wrote: "Rest Up Big Homey... A True light that will forever be missed. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. #Heartbreaking #SamSarpong #RestInPower."

In the next photo, Cannon added that everyone has to remember to lift their loved ones up when they are down. The America's Got Talent host said: "We have to remember to lift each other up, because we all we got out here."

MStars News previously reported that Sarpong jumped to his death from a bridge in Pasadena, California on Monday after authorities and the the Crisis Negotiation Team tried to save him talking to him for 7 hours. His death is currently being investigated while everyone waits on the toxicology report to make the official ruling of his death.

Sarpong's family also released a statement after the former Tommy Hilfiger model apparently killed himself.

"It is with great sadness that the family of Samuel Sarpong, Jr. must share the news that Sam has passed away. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation and no additional details are known at this time. Information about final arrangements will be forthcoming."

The statement finished, "The family appreciates the thoughts prayers and other expressions of sympathy, and request their privacy be respected at this extremely difficult time. Samuel Sarpong Jr. is survived by his father Samuel Sarpong Sr., and his sister June Sarpong. Sam Sarpong was 40 years old."

Besides his role in Love Don't Cost a Thing, Sarpong also starred in the TV series' Bones, and Boston Public. The last production he acted in was American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson set to be released in 2016.

Sarpong leaves behind his father, Samuel Sarpong Sr. and his sister, June Sarpong, an English host.
