Amy Schumer Comedy Award: Selena Gomez Presents ‘Trainwreck’ Star with Achievement
Proving she's still on top of the world, Inside Amy Schumer star Amy Schumer was recently honored with a Hollywood Film Award—whatever that is. Still, she received the award like a champ (because she is a champ to many) following the success of her stand-up, her Comedy Central Show and newest film Trainwreck. Singer-actress Selena Gomez was in attendance to present Schumer with the award.
Vanity Fair reports that the award Schumer received was the Hollywood Comedy Award—which, again, whatever that is.
Before receiving the honor, Schumer was praised by her presenter, Gomez, who claimed that she was thrilled the comedian's friend Jennifer Lawrence "wasn't able to do this tonight," further citing here reason to be, "...because I love you!"
Jokes aside, Gomez admitted that Schumer is an inspiration to her and to women all across the country, noting that she's inspired her not to take herself too seriously.
"You say the things I wish I could say. And you never, ever make me feel bad for anything I do in my personal life. Even though you don't know me ... Let me make it clear, I'm a huge fan!"
Here's Gomez's introduction:
Once Schumer got onstage, she noted that there "so many amazing women" just like Gomez who decide to be confident and speak up for what they believe in. She claimed these are the ones who choose not to "fit into the mold that is so dated that we've been supposed to fit in the whole time."
So, folks, what do you think about Schumer's award? Or are you too busy still Googling "Hollywood Film Award"?
