CBS' 'Supergirl' Ep 2 Spoilers: Will Melissa Benoist Meet Hank Henshaw's Cyborg Superman?

CBS finally aired the pilot premiere of DC Comics' Supergirl. In Episode 2, the shocking cliffhanger revealed Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) might have to take on another super villain, Hank Henshaw aka Cyborg Superman (David Harewood).

We mentioned before, the CBS superhero drama follows the comic book adventures of Kara Zor-El (Benoist). Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped before its destruction. While living on Earth, Kara has been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at the tender age of 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and become the hero she was always meant to be.

As we previously mentioned, Superman's cousin, Kara, has been living quietly amongst the humans. Her secrecy changes when Kara's sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh) is about to die in a horrible plane crash. After stopping the plane crash in mid-air, everyone wants to meet the new heroine, Supergirl, especially Jimmy Olson (Mehcad Brooks) and the super villain, Vartox. As the plot to invade earth thickens, Supergirl will have to eventually face her Kryptonian aunt and mother's twin sister, Astra (Laura Benanti).

In an interview with TV Guide, executive producer Ali Adler discusses what happened during the Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO). Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) revealed a his glowing red eyes. On Supergirl's official Twitter, the caption states, "Hank's got some crazy #Supergirl @davidharewood"

Adler reveals, "With all of the characters, there's much to learn. Hank Henshaw -- I don't know how much I can say about his character, but there is a very deep, rich backstory that we'll be exploring throughout the season."

According to Movie Pilot, in the DC Comics Universe, Hank Henshaw known as the villain, Cyborg Superman. During the Death of Superman, Hank possesses Superman's abilities and a android body. Cyborg Superman is responsible for the destruction of Coast City.

Adler teases, "Don't judge a book by its cover, and sometimes the cover is right. I'm being purposely mysterious, I think."

Supergirl continues Mondays 8pm on CBS.
