The X-Files: Season 11 #4 Review: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson's Mulder/Scully Home Again!

IDW Publishing continues its hot streak with The X-Files Season 11 #4. In the fourth installment, FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) find themselves in the gripping conclusion of Home Again by writer Joe Harris and artist Matthew Dow Smith

In our MStars interview at Special Edition: NYC, Harris described how he wanted to protray Mulder and Scully, "Naturally, she is a scientist; she is a doctor. She is an evidence-based person even though she is a woman of faith. She's the one who is going to be skeptical and Mulder is going to be the one with the crazy theory. That's the way the show works. That's what the people want."

As we previously mentioned, Mulder found himself a wanted fugitive, running from the law. Though she is clear from all charges, the government is keeping a close eye on Scully as well as the all-powerful Gibson Praise. With Gibson controlling them like puppets, how long will it take before everyone becomes under his possession?

In the gripping finale of the Home Again three part storyline, Harris captures the raw and brutal force of the incestuous Peacock family. As X-Files fans know, Home refers to the much-talked about episode, which was slapped with a TV-MA rating. Toning down the graphic violence, which made the story even better, the murderous Peacocks are more creepy and intimidating in Harris' characterization.

The narrative follows a suspenseful pace, leading to a nail-biting standoff between the FBI and the dark nuclear family. What I love about Smith's illustrations is that the entire issue takes place at night. Smith uses the police sirens and the surface of the moon as his main light sources.

RATING: TAKE MY MONEY
