Singer and actress, JoJo, used a song and social media to honor her father, who died over the weekend. MStars News has learned that the singer sang the national anthem at a race in Pheonix on Sunday to remember her dad, Joel Levesque. She used the platforms to speak on the attacks in Paris as well.

"Today I will be singing the national anthem to honor my dad. He was a disabled veteran. I wish he was here with me today. He would have cried. I will be crying because I miss him already. We all thought it would happen eventually... But now that it's happened, I can't believe this is real life," JoJo wrote in the photo below. She used the following hashtags "#RIPJoel #GodblessAmerica #GodblessFrance and wrote "May God help us all to love and understand each other better. To lead with compassion and live in peace on this one planet we are entrusted with," in her post. JoJo also referenced the attacks in Paris that happened over the weekend. MStars News previously reported that 129 people lost their lives when terrorists started shooting and setting off bombs in different parts of the French capital including cafes, a soccer match and at the Eagles of Death Metal concert.

According to People, JoJo's dad was 60. Further details of Levesque's death are unknown at this time. JoJo added another photo of her father and herself when she was smaller and wrote, "I missed you even while you were here. I will miss you infinitely more now that you're gone." Not revealing how her father died, JoJo thanked him for holding on and doing his best. "Thank you for holding on as long as you did. I know you tried your best. You are free now. I will love you always, Dad. I can feel you with me. Rest now. In PEACE. I miss your voice. I wish more people could have heard it. I promise I will keep singing for you," she finished.

According to Life and Style magazine, JoJo's father was a blues singer and her mom was a church vocalist. The young singer just released her a new EP back in August, and appeared in two big movies, Aquamarine and RV.

Some of our readers probably remember JoJo's hit song, "Leave (Get Out)." The 2004 hit had a lot of teenagers singing, making it a great breakup anthem.

RIP Mr. Levesque. JoJo and her family are in our prayers.
