Jared Fogle Gets 15 Years Behind Bars: Former Subway Spokesman Going to Prison

Jared Fogle will be probably gaining some weight as he sits behind bars, because he won't be allowed to eat Subway where he's going! MStars News has learned that the former Subway spokesman is going to prison for 15 years. Yes, Fogle will be spending a long time behind bars following his child pornagraphy sex scandal.

According to Indy Star, Judge Tanya Walton Pratt revealed on Thursday that Fogle will have to serve 15 years and eight months in prison Thursday for "possession and distribution of child pornography and traveling across state lines for commercial sex with a minor."

After almost five hours in court, Fogle made his way out of the courtroom in handcuffs as family members hugged and cried. Fogle blew a kiss and waved to his family right after he learned his fate.

Fogle got more than what he thought he was going to be given. His prosecutors agreed to seek a plea deal that would've put him away for 5 to 12 1/2 years. Judge Pratt explained that his sentence could "range from 135 to 168 months...does not sufficiently account for the defendant's criminal conduct."

Fogle may be serving his time at a prison in Littleton, Colorado, because it has a program geared to sex offenders.

"Federal judges do not sentence based on emotion or public sentiment," Pratt said in a comment. "The level of perversion and lawlessness exhibited by Mr. Fogle is extreme."

Fogle became a brand success after he was obese during his college days at Indiana University. After losing basically a person when eating Subway, he was finally discovered and became a major hit in the sandwich franchise commercials.

"What a gift to have such a professional windfall fall in your lap," the Judge said about Fogle's past.

According to TMZ, Fogle had at least 12 victims in his child porn obsession. He also had two victims of child prostitution. Judge Pratt claimed that Fogle's compulsive eating disorder turned into hypersexuality when he experienced extreme weightloss.

Fogle will be subject to random searches, and have to keep paying his fines when he gets released from prison.
