As much as you (may) enjoy John Mayer's music, it's probably best that he doesn't get into acting––if Saturday Night Live's portrayal of him is correct, that is. This past weekend's episode with host Matthew McConaughey appeared to go off rather swimmingly. During the episode, the famed sketch series ribbed the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens release, and invited in the likes of director J.J. Abrams, and so many more, to show off some of the audition tapes.

Newcomer Jon Rudnitsky played the Paradise Valley singer in the below video, showing off his (lack of) acting chops alongside Star Wars lead Daisy Ridley.

Now, we're not exactly certain what John Mayer has to say about the sketch, but he'll more than likely take it lightly, as he's been mocked on the series before.

Of course, Mayer wasn't the only celeb to be mocked in the sketch. Key player Cecily Strong showed off her chops as Sofia VergaraJay Pharoah brought back his oh-so-enjoyable Shaquille O'Neal impersonation as well as Chris TuckerBeck Bennett played a dirty-minded Javier Bardem and player Aidy Bryant wonderfully showed off her skills as Wynonna Judd.

And then there was Bobby Moynihan's George Lucus impression, which was wonderful.

Oh yeah, and we can't forget about Emma Stone and Jon Hamm, two cameos which were nothing short of amazing.
