Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner, Secret Twitter Account Handle Leaked?

The NBA is welcoming digital media into the professional basketball world with open arms. Snapchat? Sure. Vines? Absolutely. Twitter? Of course! The world of the NBA is streamed across these medians so not a play, or tweet, goes unnoticed. But it's not just the league that is taking notice; it's commissioner Adam Silver, too. He's been reported to keep tabs on all things NBA with a stealthy Twitter Account.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Silver follows the action on a stealth account--perhaps one of those dormant eggs, or a fun animated picture of himself? When he wants to actually send a tweet, he does so using the NBA Twitter handle.

"If someone's tweeting that, for example, 'Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, you got to check them out, they're on right now playing San Antonio, it's click-instantaneous," Silver said, via the Wall Street Journal. "For 6.99, you now buy that game-it's yours."

And while Silver went on to say there are other factors outside of social media that are changing the landscape of the NBA, and the way we view it, he did say social media may be the biggest factor. Although, he still thinks it's hard to beat a good live viewing.

"The Porzingis 'almost buzzer beater,'" he said, via the Wall Street Journal, "I missed it live." He did, however, view it on his phone. "It's incredible, but part of my reaction was: 'I wish I had been watching that.'"

While nobody officially knows Silver's Twitter alias, it hasn't stopped online detectives from taking a stab at pin pointing the account. The USA Today listed 27 viable options, while one Twitter agent offered his top five.

Maybe he'll be exposed someday, maybe he won't. For now, Silver watches on from the dark corners of the Twitter-sphere, monitoring every NBA tweet out there.
