'Hunger Games’ Star Jennifer Lawrence Named EW’s 2015 Entertainer of the Year

Entertainment Weekly has given their top spot this year to Academy Award-winning actress and Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, naming her their Entertainer of the Year. JLaw, at age 25, has already racked up two Oscar nominations for Winter's Bone and American Hustle and an Oscar win for Silver Linings Playbook. To put that in perspective, Meryl Streep, who has three Oscars and sixteen nominations, didn't receive her first before she was 30.

With the release of The Hunger Games Mockingjay – Part 2, the actress, who portrays rebel Katniss Everdeen, has just completed one of the most successful franchises in film history.

"It's crazy ... I signed on to these projects when I was 20 years old. I remember being like, 'Oh, my God, I'm going to be 25 when I'm finished.' It seemed so far away. It does feel over. It didn't for a while and I didn't think it would ever sink in, but it has now." On her co-stars she adds, "These people know more about me than anybody on the planet! So it's bizarre for it to end. It does feel over."

In addition, another great performance by Lawrence is expected with the Christmas release of Joy, her third collaboration with Oscar nominated director David O. Russell as well as former co-stars Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro.

Lawrence is also taking her talents behind the camera by co-writing a screenplay with Hollywood's current top comedian Amy Schumer.

Needless to say, the list of performers that can act and write in both drama and comedy is a short one, even shorter for those born after Goodfellas hit movie theaters.

Lawrence claims "Everything in her life needs to be real."

The Entertainer of the Year issue hits newsstands on Tuesday.
