Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton shocked the country music world when they announced that they were getting divorced earlier this year, but the two seem to have come to terms with calling it quits. While Shelton has moved on with his The Voice co-coach, Gwen Stefani, Lambert says that she can rest easy because she knows that they tried everything to make it work, and in the end, it just didn't.

According to Us Weekly, the star revealed that her and Shelton really gave their marriage the good old college try, but that they just couldn't seem to make sense of it anymore.

The "Mama's Broken Heart" singer opened up as the cover girl, for this month's edition of Cosmopolitan where she talks all things Blake and the breakdown of her marriage.

"Marriage is a tough business, and we gave it our best college try," Lambert explained to the magazine, according to PEOPLE while also admitting that at times the fallout is still hard to process.

"I had a great relationship with an amazing man," the country crooner continued. "I know what good is. I have a great launching pad for the future. I will never take that for granted."

Shelton might have started a brand-new relationship shortly after calling it quits with Lambert, as he is wooing fellow divorcee Stefani on the set of their NBC show, but Lambert is taking more of a relaxed approach when it comes to dating in the future, as she is still processing her split.

She tells the magazine, according to Entertainment Tonight, that she knows that the process of the fallout might be hard at time, but she is ready for it.

"Some of that might mean nights on my porch crying, drinking whiskey, and going, 'Man, this sucks right now,'" she revealed.
