Jennifer Lawrence Bullied, Had To Change Schools: 'Silver Linings Playbook' Best Actress Oscar Winner Say She Was Unpopular, Discusses Fame and 'Hunger Games'
In a recent interview with The Sun, Jennifer Lawrence reveals that even an Oscar winner like her had to deal with bullying while growing up. The 22-year-old Silver Linings Playbook star explains how she was even forced to change schools because of the turmoil at school. As usual, the actress gives her fans even more reasons to fall in love with her, allowing other who have experiences such problems to relate to the Miss Dior spokeswoman. She opens up about her rise to fame and the Hunger Games films as well.
Jen reflects on her childhood and how she was bullied, saying:
"I changed schools a lot when I was in elementary school because some girls were mean. They were less mean in middle school, because I was doing all right, although this one girl gave me invitations to hand out to her birthday party that I wasn't invited to. But that was fine, I just hocked a loogie on them and threw them in the trash can. Don't worry about the bitches - that could be a good motto, because you come across people like that throughout your life."
Fresh off of her Academy Award win, Jen addresses her quick rise to fame saying she could not be happier:
"When you get a promotion at your job, you don't go, 'God, that was too fast, can I stay in the mailroom?' You kind of take it thankfully. It was fast, but I'm grateful for it."
One of the reasons that she has had such a fast rise to fame is due to the successful Hunger Games film and its anticipated sequel, Catching Fire. Jen shares a story about a painful, clumbsy moment she had with costar Josh Hutcherson. She recalls:
"I actually gave him a concussion but he had to console ME because I was the one who cried. We both did stunt training for the movie and I took it a little too far and did a perfect death kick. I meant to stop before hitting his temple but he moved - so it was his fault really. My foot connected right on his temple. I could not stop crying for three hours."
OH JEN!
