Danica Patrick get hit in the head last night with a flying rock while exiting the dirt track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, resulting in a sore neck. The 30-year-old NASCAR driver joked earlier today saying that she thought she had a concussion from the stray rock that knocked her to the ground. This was her way of poking fun at herself after, just a few days ago; the racing queen crashed her car at the Sprint Cup in Phoenix, Arizona resulting in a sore neck and possible concussion. Medical staff cleared her for racing, though, saying that she did not have a concussion.

"I feel like I have a concussion from last night," Danica joked today, and then added, "It's really sore. It hit me straight in the head. Good thing I had a hat on, or I feel like there would have been blood."

Danica slammed into the wall this past Sunday in Phoenix, in one of her career's most significant crashes. She had about 100 laps left of the race but thankfully left with only a sore neck. Patrick recalled her injuries with the following statement:

"I really felt fine. I told them, I said, 'I had a headache on Sunday night and on Monday my neck was sore,' and they said, 'Well, it sounds like it could have been worse and we're glad you're OK.'"

Danica is an accomplished racer and is the first woman to win a pole. She finished eighth in this year's Daytona 500 last month. Patrick is also a model and spokeswoman for Go Daddy, a domain name registrar known for its tantalizing marketing campaigns that sometimes feature Danica. She is also dating fellow racer and two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. They were both nominated for Sprint Cup Series' rookie of the year.
