Boosie Badazz aka Lil Boosie is recovering after undergoing surgery for kidney cancer on Tuesday. The rapper took to Instagram to update fans, thanking them for their prayers. Boosie claims he is now cancer free following the operation.
The rapper, whose birth name is Torrence Hatch, took to social media to thank everyone for their support and asked for prayers for his surgery.
Boosie stated he would have surgery and rehabilitation at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Boosie updated fans after the operation, claiming he is now free of cancer. The rapper posted, "I want to thank each and everyone for all the support and love! Surgery went well..God is good! Next step recovery!"
He added, "Cancer has been removed from Boosie kidney… Thanks to all Boosie family and friends and all my real Boosie fans for all the prayers from #badazzmusicsyndicate… I am a [cancer survivor]."
Boosie shocked fans last week when he posted on social media that he had been diagnosed with kidney cancer.
He wrote on Instagram, "I need all my fans to pray for me. Doctor just told me I have cancer on my kidneys. Prayer is power that's why I'm letting the world know prayfaboosie."
The cancer news comes after the rapper was diagnosed with diabetes after being released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary in March 2014. Boosie was sent to prison in 2009 over firearm and drug possession charges.
