Despite not releasing an album this year, Katy Perry has $135 million reasons to love 2015. The California-born songstress has just landed the top spot of the Forbes magazine World's Highest-Paid Musician of 2015 list.

The 31-year old beat out other heavy earners including One Direction, grossing $130 million, Garth Brooks, grossing $90 million and Taylor Swift, who grossed $80 million. It's estimated the majority of her salary came from the ticket sales of her 17-month Prismatic World Tour, which spanned 126 dates, netting her roughly $2 million per city.

Other earnings came from lucrative fashion endorsements with Covergirl, Claires's and Coty. Perry's previous ranking on the list was in the number 23 spot.

The five-time American Music Award winner first gained fame with her One of the Boys album, which included the single "I Kissed a Girl" and to date has sold almost 5 million digital copies. Her next album, Teenage Dream, produced the Billboard chart topping single "California Gurls," sold almost 300,000 downloads in its first week. With her newest album Prism released in 2013, she became the first artist to reach one billion views when her videos for the singles "Roar" and "Dark Horse" appeared on Vevo.

The People's Choice winner recently appeared on the financial magazine with the title "America's Pop Export."

"Before accepting the offer to be on the cover of Forbes , I was told that a lot of women have previously shied away from doing it," said the "Unconditionally" singer before adding, "I wondered if it was because they thought socially it would look like they were flaunting or bragging or it wasn't a humble decision. Ladies, there is a difference between being humble and working hard to see the fruits of your labor blossom, and your dreams realized."

According to the publication, the Grammy-nominated singer is also this year's third highest-paid celebrity behind boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
