Like his wife Yandy Smith, Mendeecees Harris is speaking out about his recent prison sentence. During a chat with VH1 camera's Harris said, "I really can't make excuses why I'm here, but I learned a lot."

As he prepares to go away, Harris claimed that he has up and down days. "It's a lot of stuff going on with this case. Cameras are in my face you have your good days and your bad days."

Harris continued, "You have days where you don't even think about what's going on, and then you have the days when you actually are stressed about your current situation."

It seemed that the his family was on a never ending rollercoaster. Harris and Smith have two kids together, and he also is the father of two other young boys. "This was a rough season, one minute you're happy, the next minute you're sad. You don't know what tomorrow brings. It was just an emotional rollercoaster."

"I've been out for almost two years. Been working. Been doing a lot of positive stuff and leading by example. I never asked to be in the predicament that I am," The Love and Hip Hop New York star said. "I thought I was doing everything right, but sometimes- I really can't make excuses for why I'm here. But I learned a lot."

MStars News has been keeping up with this family since the beginning when Harris was charged for his role in a drug trafficking scheme that involved shipping large amounts of cocaine and heroin from downstate New York to the Rochester area. He was sentenced to eight years in prison last week, and is preparing to away from his family.

Harris, his brother, and another man used ferries to transport large amounts of cocaine and heroin to upstate New York. Harris' brother and the other man involved are currently serving their time in prison.
