Tina Fey’s Sarah Palin Returns to ‘SNL’ with Amy Poehler’s Hillary Clinton [WATCH]

Saturday Night Live's heavily anticipated Christmas episode aired last night, and our guess is fans of the hosts, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, were undoubtedly satisfied. Of course, bringing back the likes of their famed Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton impersonations probably didn't hurt one bit either.

After Poehler left the show a number of years back, key player Kate McKinnon has stepped in to fill the shoes and play – rather well, we might add – the now Democratic presidential hopeful. But during last night's episode, Poehler dusted off her chops (and tossed on a wig) to star in a sketch as the 2008 version of Clinton alongside McKinnon's 2015 version of the politician.

In the sketch, McKinnon's Clinton preps herself for a night of rest, tossing on her pajamas – which are really just another outfit – when she's met by the Ghost of Clinton Past.

The point of the visit was to warn today's Clinton of the (slim) possibility that the 2016 Democratic nomination could slip between her fingers yet again. It seems that she got awfully close back in 2008, until someone came in and "stole" her life – now President Barack Obama.

After some warnings from her younger self, the duo are met by yet another female who nearly had a spot in the White House – then Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Both Fey and Poehler hosted last night's Saturday Night Live to promote their newest film, Sisters. The film tells the tale of two sisters – one wild (Fey) and one more tame (Poehler) – who throw a house party at their parents' house before it's sold to a new buyer.
