MLB's Dave Henderson Dead at 57: Twitter Reacts to Baseball Player's Death

It's being reported that the MLB has confirmed the death of 57-year-old all-star outfielder Dave Henderson. ESPN claims that "Hendu" recently underwent a kidney transplant, and USA Today reports that his cause of death early Sunday morning was that of cardiac arrest. After word of his death spread, fans took to Twitter to express their condolences.

ESPN reports that Henderson's time on the field was spread throughout 14 seasons, for which he starred for the Oakland A's, Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals, Seattle Mariners and the San Francisco Giants.

The A's released a statement following his death on Sunday morning, reading:

"The A's are saddened to hear of the passing of Dave Henderson. Henderson was an instrumental part of the A's 1989 World Series Championship club and an even more impactful member of the A's family and community. Hendu and his smile will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his family."
