The premiere of Captain America: Civil War is still a few months away, bringing back Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in a colossal fight among superheroes -- but the Guardians of the Galaxy director and notorious Marvel geek, James Gunn, already saw the film and claims Tom Holland's Peter Parker/Spider-Man steals the show.

Ahead of the New Year, Gunn had a live Q&A with fans on Facebook to talk about future plans and what's coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and while discussing questions about Kurt Russell's possible involvement with the franchise as well as Chris Pratt's return for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, he spoke about having seen the widely expected Cap' sequel.

"I saw Civil War, and I think it's incredible. It's one of the best Marvel movies ever, and I can't believe what a wonderful job the Russo Brothers did, and the cast," he said in the clip below, via Comic Book. "Tom Holland is off the charts awesome. Off the charts. Truly. Hand to my heart, he's amazing."

Of course, Gunn can't speak much about the upcoming film, as Marvel is famously surrounded by secrecy in each and every movie, even though the Guardians director has been known to be among the most vocal people in the studio - but considering this guy made one of the best films of the MCU, it's hard not to get excited when he says the widely awaited Civil War is one of the best things in the franchise.

As far as Holland himself is concerned, Cinema Blend reports that the 19 year-old actor only got more and more excited to star in the stand-alone Spidey film after his appearance in the Cap sequel, though he won't start throwing his web around Manhattan for a few more months.

The third installment of the Captain America film is being helmed as a proto-Avengers movie, as it also stars some of the biggest names in the MCU, including Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and even more recent additions like Paul Bettany's The Vision and Paul Rudd's Ant-Man.
