Carolina Panthers quarterback, Cam Newton can't seem to stop glowing since his first child was born. He and his longtime girlfriend, Kia Proctor finally revealed the name of their newborn son, drum roll please....the future football player is named Chosen Sebastian Newton. During a recent interview, seen in the video below, the Panther star admitted that he was "lucky enough to have a son" and those around him say he is very happy to be a father.

Newton stated with a smile: "Sometimes my father was too hard on us. Now that I'm lucky enough to have a son, I'm going to be the same way...but cooler."

According to HollywoodLife, Newton and Proctor's son weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces, and the new father is already claiming that his son will probably have many athletic talents. Newton revealed that he has already been spending alot of time with his baby boy.

MStars News previously reported that Newton's baby boy was born on Christmas Eve, December 24. The quarterback left practice early on that day to travel to Atlanta to be with Proctor as she gave birth. Newton revealed that he kept his girlfriend's pregnancy quiet so that there would be no distractions during his football season.

"I've been quiet about this because I didn't want to create a distraction for my team and appreciate the privacy in this joyous time," Newton previously told fans on social media.

Following the birth of baby Chosen, Newton's teammate, Mike Tolbert claimed that fatherhood has made Newton more happier.

"He's kind of got a glow," Tolbert explained. "You can see it. You can see something's different about him and obviously that's it."

Tolbert added, "I notice that he's walking around with a much bigger smile and he's a little bit more exuberant than anybody would be this time of year on a Thursday."

MStars News previously reported that the Panthers lost their first game in Atlanta to the Falcons the same week Newton became a father. The quarterback was back on track this past Sunday bringing home a victory for the Panthers; beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38 to 10.

With the NFL playoffs around the corner, this reporter hopes the Carolina Panthers take it all the way to a Super Bowl win!!
