According to the New York Daily News, country star Sheryl Crow may be federal agents' "smoking gun" witness in regards to Lance Armstrong's ongoing saga with the US Anti-Doping Agency. Accusations against the famous cyclist have gotten so intense that the testicular cancer survivor has willing succumbed to the USADA, which stripped the 40-year-old of his seven Tour De France titles last month. While some see this as an admission of guilt, a new twist in the case has recently surfaced - Crow actually spoke with federal agents last year, and who knows what personal info she may have provided on Armstrong, considering the two dated and were basically inseparable for three significant years.

The 50-year-old songstress is currently keeping hush-hush as to what specific details she did provide to investigators, but considering the duo were involved in a pretty serious relationship from 2003-2006 (even getting engaged at one point),  if anyone were to harbor any dirty little secrets on Armstrong, Crow would most likely be that person. The "If it makes you Happy" singer dated Armstrong during his big heyday - he won two of his Tour De France titles in the three years they were together. If Crowe did provide any discriminating evidence against Armstrong, it could have been key details which resulted in his ultimate fall from glory.

Crow did come to Armstrong's defense back in 2005, stating, "I don't think the French people are on a mission to strip him of his integrity. It's just a handful of people pursuing that theory, and it's tiresome and a nuisance, and it will eventually end, I hope."

Wonder if she had a change of heart by 2011?
