Nicole Murphy: 'Hollywood Exes' Star Ready to Wed New Kelly Ripa Co-Host Michael Strahan

People may recognize Nicole Murphy for her starring role on  VH1's hit reality show "Hollywood Exes" (after divorcing comedian Eddie Murphy back in 2005), but that's not all the 44-year-old starlet has going for her. The mother-of-five supports her own fashion line and plans on returning to the runway as a model soon - oh, and she's engaged to former NFL player- turned "Live! With Kelly" co-host Michael Strahan.

The New York Daily News reports Murphy (formerly Mitchell) as stating, "It's time to start focusing on a wedding." On the season one finale of "Hollywood Exes" - which aired last Wednesday night, Aug. 30 -cameras followed Murphy as she shopped for a ring.

And now with the recent announcement that former Giants football star Strahan has a permanent spot alongside Kelly Ripa on her popular morning talk show, looks like the couple will be spending a lot more time together at their shared Tribeca, NY apartment.

Along with Strahan's good news, Murphy launched her own fashion line (Open Hours) earlier in August and plans on walking in designer Omar Salam's Lincoln Center Fashion Week show on Sept. 7.

"I think it's a fresh-start period," Murphy said.

As for the impending wedding - "It might be on an island... I might just go and do the Vegas drive-through thing."

As for finally riding herself of the "Beverly Hills Cop" star's infamous last name - "Out of respect for my new husband, I would take his name. Why would I keep my ex's name?"
