Morgan Freeman virtually died in 2012 again as a false Facebook page about his alleged death surfaced on Facebook. However, it was very obvious for many people after the recent scare with Bill Cosby, who had been virtually killed off for the 5th time. Freeman is alive and well and probably not even aware that there is such a horrible rumor going on about him. Thankfully, the thousands of people who have clicked "like" on the R.I.P. Facebook page and left messages of heartfelt condolences have "unliked" the page after realizing the story is false.
This proves that people on the web are getting smarter and verifying their information before declaring a false story to hundreds of others via their Twitter and Facebook feed.
Death hoaxes have become so common in the past year that when a Twitter trend of Facebook page is created, people are not so quick to believe it as fact.
One Facebook user wrote, "Thank God people are not feeding these trolls. My heart jumped when I saw the news of Bill Cosby's death trending all over the web. That troll was nasty. Glad people are not as gullible as before for Morgan Freeman."
Let's hope these trolls and death hoax creators get the point that their jokes are getting old.
Share this story with friends to not support the trolls out there by holding their reins before spreading any story online.
