Alfonso Ribeiro Dead: Recent Death Hoaxes Target Black Celebrities?

Alfonson Ribeiro is NOT dead contrary to reports that the Fresh Prince of Belair's Carlton has died. RIP Carlton pages have sprung up on Facebook and fans began to mourn over his death with messages including "RIP, I will miss and love you but I know you're in a better place" to "one of my favorites. always made me laugh. such a good actor. rip"

Others have written on the Facebook pages to clear up the rumors with messages like "false rumor..it is his uncle who passed away!!" and "Oh no ... Fran is not havin' it! We are not killing any brilliant comedy today! ALFONSO RIBEIRO IS NOT DEAD. Now we will advertise on this moron's page to make it good for something !"

The last few death hoaxes have  targeted Black celebrities including veteran actor Bill Cosby, actor Eddie Murphy, comedian John Witherspoon, rapper 50 cent, singer Rihanna and more.

Is there discrimination being shown via death hoax victims of late?  Some observers think so and have expressed their disappointment.

"Is this for real this time. How many black people are supposed to have died recently and how many have been bullshit. Think i will check it out elsewhere first"

Carlton took to his own twitter account to declare that he was still alive.  He tired to keep a positive mindset even though the nasty rumors causes some of his friends to be concerned about whether he was alive or not.

"It's crazy how many people are calling me about this rumor," Ribeiro tweeted. "Thanks for all the love. In every situation you must find the positive."

One death hoax may seem a little funny at first however, if you've experienced it more than five times like Bill Cosby, it would not be anywhere near funny.  

Ribeiro is best known for his role as Carlton in the funny TV series "Fresh Prince of Belair."  His famous "Carlton dance" never fails to tickle the funny bone.  

We are glad the actor is still alive.
