Hollywood action tycoons Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg last teamed up on the critical and commercial smash Lone Survivor, and reportedly teaming up once more, but this time for a reboot of a beloved '70s TV show, with a specific modern twist. According to deadline.com the two will be updating '70s TV show The 6 Million Dollar Man (origin of the classic "Gentlemen, we can rebuild him; we have the technology" line), but making sure to adjust for inflation and updating it to The 6 Billion Dollar Man

The story of The Six Million Dollar Man - based on a novel by Martin Caidin titled Cyborg - centers around Steve Austin, an astronaut who is badly injured in a crash, then given bionic implants, enhancing his physical attributes.

Director Berg, who has been in charge of a range of action films (Hancock, Battleship, Lone Survivor) across a varied career is riding high on the success of Lone Survivor, the tale of a team of Navy SEALs stranded in Afghanistan. Wahlberg, who is coming off one of the biggest movies of the year in Transformers: Age of Extinction and who starred in Lone Survivor for Berg, will play the titular character in the place of '70s heartthrob Lee Majors, and the film is expecting a 2016 release.

In a sit-down interview with Grantland's Bill Simmons, Wahlberg talked at length about The Six Billion Dollar Man (around the 17:20 mark), the Entourage movie, Ted 2, the TV adaptation of his movie Shooter and his next film The Gambler, a remake of the 1974 James Caan film. And, of course, his beloved Boston sporting teams, which he ensures he's able to watch by having it in his movie contracts that he's provided with DirecTV in his trailer while on set.
