Kevin Hart spoofed Justin Bieber, discovered a long lost son, and played James Brown this week's Saturday Night Live, and the diminutive The Wedding Ringer star delivered a great turn as the first host of SNL for 2015. But it turns out Hart - who was hosting SNL for the second time - has revealed that he wouldn't feel comfortable playing a gay character during an interview about how he didn't take a role in 2008's Tropic Thunder because of the way he felt.

As Entertainment Weekly say, Hart "led with what he does best, and though the rest of his sketches may have been uneven, he delivered more real laughs than most of his peers."

They add "Overall, Hart was much improved from his SNL debut."

Screen Cush agreed, saying "Hart made for a strong guest host, capable of playing variations on himself and new characters quite well."

They add that the skit about Hart meeting his long lost son - where Hart was confronted by all of his most, er, 'memorable' (read: some the people might find unique... or annoying) qualities by his son, played by Jay Pharoah  - and that even though it "made direct fun of his public image and personality" Hart "went right along with it."

The SNL hosting gig came just days after Hart spoke out about playing a gay character. As reported by TMZ, Hart told Power 105.1's breakfast team, "I can't [play a gay character] because I don't think I'm really going to dive into that role 100 percent, because of the insecurities about myself trying to play that part."

"What I think people are going to think while I'm trying to do this is going to stop me from playing that part the way I'm supposed to."

Huffington Post explain that the quote came while Hart was talking about how he regretted turning down the role of gay rapper 'Alpa Chino' played by Brandon T Jackson in the Ben Stiller/Robert Downey Jr/Jack Black starring Tropic Thunder.
