A pitch gone horribly wrong during the Miami Marlins vs Milwaukee Brewers was caught on camera and seen by thousands as the video went viral. Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton was unexpectedly hit in the face during the fifth inning by an incoming fastball from Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers.

Usually with a knockout like this, usually there is some trash-talking and explicit language going around. Doesn't look like it this time, since everything seemed to be going normal. If you watch the footage many times, it's possible Fiers didn't even mean to hit his opponent.

As Stanton got up to the plate, his arms were ready to swing the baseball bat. Right after Fiers made that pitch, the ball was headed straight for the outfielder's face at 88 MPH. Stanton's limp body plopped to the floor and writhed around on the ground, while covering his bleeding face with his hands.

In slow motion, we see Stanton falling backwards, with his feet knocked into the air. Maybe it was the slip of the fingers because Fiers ran across afterwards, with his hands behind his head. Whether it was bad aiming or just pure bad luck, the throw caused physical and emotional damage to both sides.

According to CBSsports, the injured player suffered multiple lacerations to his face. Not only will he receive stitches, there are multiple facial fractures and dental damage. Fiers was pretty shaken up, expressing sorrow for what happened, but he didn't mean to hurt anybody.
