When a plain little house cat is faced with a big Alsakan black bear at her backdoor, the true tenacity of her wild ancestors comes to life to defend her home-or maybe she just caught the poor guy off guard. Either way, a cat named Nani is the star of one of this week's best viral videos after startling a visiting black bear so much that it stumbled off of the house's back porch. "She's really such a fraidy cat most of the time, I don't know what got into her," owner Darlis Elliot told local news station KTUU. "She probably wouldn't have lunged if we weren't standing right behind her."
"The bear came up our front drive way and walked around the house to the back," Elliott continued. "We were all kind of watching him as he came up the back porch and that's when Nani saw him. She was watching him until he turned his face to the door, and that's when she pounced. We were all really surprised that she lunged at him, but we were more surprised that it scared him enough to fall of the porch."
