Captain Jack Sparrow is a notorious, violent drunk criminal in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, but he can also life the spirits of some lucky young patients at a Children's Hospital. We know this because Johnny Depp showed up at an Australian Children's Hospital in character to cheer up a number of fans. The actor was in-character the entire time, and kept his fan-favorite wit up to its highest level while posing for pictures and making fun of the word "selfie." While we love seeing Depp in character cheering up these fans at the hospital, we do know that the actor has been pretty open about visits like these (via The Hollywood Reporter).
"I'll just sneak in and go and surprise a bunch of kiddies through the different wards," Depp had previously told E! regarding surprising young patients like this. "It basically turns into a two-, three-hour improvisation and it's really fun. So I travel with Captain Jack."
Depp definitely knows how to make his fans happy, and keeping the costume around for this reason makes him one of the coolest celebrities out there!
