It appears that former One Direction singer Zayn Malik has a new girlfriend named Neelam Gill. MStars News has learned that Gill, a 20-year-old Burberry model, sort of hinted that the two were dating and in a romantic relationship during a past interview earlier this year.
According to Hollywood Life, Gill spilled details about meeting Malik during a chat with On Demand News while on the red carpet for The Asian Awards. At that time, Malik was honored with the award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.
In the video below, Gill made it clear that she stood behind the singer after he took an exit from the English-Irish pop boy band based out of London.
Gill said: "Zayn's a nice guy, I'm happy he's being honored tonight and I think it will be a great night," talking about his honor.
As for his decision to live the band, Gill appeared to support his choice. "I can relate to him because we've both been thrown into the industry and I can only imagine how crazy it's been for him. As long as he's happy, I respect that. Whatever he does I'm sure he'll be successful, he's really talented and he's a good guy."
Neelam also tweeted at him after the show saying, "Congratulations on your award tonight @zaynmalik, catch up again soon!"
The rumored couple first met at a recording studio in London when Malik was working on his solo project with Naughty Boy.
Malik was previously engaged to singer Perrie Edwards of Little Mix. People Magazine claimed Edwards was devastated and heartbroken after Malik called it quits.
"She's been putting on a brave face, as Little Mix have had promotion to do, but she's obviously devastated," a source claimed. "Perrie's being supported by her bandmates, but she's really in pieces about this."
Malik and Edwards, both 22 years old, got engaged back in August 2013.
