Although reining MVP, Stephen Curry, was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, he definitely had plenty of people doubting his abilities. In a recent video with CoachUp, Curry addressed the negative comments and reports, which all seem ignorant now.

The MVP and reining NBA Championship winner's abilities were slept on for a very long time. This includes during the 2009 NBA Draft pick. Due to Curry's height and weight, countless people doubted whether Curry could take a team, such as the Golden State Warriors, to the championship, let alone win a championship, or even become MVP for a season.

As reported by CBS Sports and Sporting News, in a new video with a company called CoachUp, which is a private coaching business he's recently partnered with, Curry read some of his pre-draft scouting reports while proving his abilities in the video, as Drake's "0-100" plays in the background, of course focusing on the lyric "Steph Curry with the shot, boy."

Some reports include:

"Stephen's explosiveness and athleticism are below standard.

"He's not a great finisher around the basket.

"He needs to considerable improve his ball handling.

"Often struggles against physical defenders.

"Stephen must develop as a point guard in order to make it in the league.

"He will have limited success at the next level.

"Do not rely on him to run your team."

It's a shame that people doubted the abilities of one of the greatest shooters in the league to such an extent to claim that he should not be relied on to carry a team. Given the fact that Curry's remarkable 2014-2015 season came as a surprise (although if you recall Curry's 2013-2014 season, you could've seen it coming...), to belittle an athlete's abilities even before he makes it to the league is just cruel.

At least Curry was able to take the negative and turn it positive by taking the criticism as constructive and allowing it to fuel his training to make him a stronger player.
