There is no doubt that Captain America: Civil War will show the darker side of Marvel, since the film will feature the good guys going into battle against each other. But the fight will not end with the conclusion of Civil War. The movie's co-director Joe Russo has just confirmed that Captain America 3 will be directly connected to the all-out brawl in Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2!

Russo recently spoke to Comicbook.com during the New Orleans Wizard World convention, where he admitted that Civil War will be directly connected with the two Infinity War movies in terms of storyline.

"For us, we really are firm believers in stakes. We like movies with high highs and low lows and we just feel like you get a more well-rounded experience in that type of film," Russo said. "Now that we're engaged in serialized storytelling, it starts with Winter Soldier and ends with the Infinity War movies. We feel it's very important that those four films, Civil War, and both Infinity War movies, have a very profound effect on the audience."

It sure sounds like the Russo brothers are getting ready to shock audiences with the Phase 3 movies, and the shockers will begin with Civil War.

"I think our job is to send you on a very profound experience between now and 2019 and it starts with Civil War. I don't know if people will be prepared for what this movie is going to include," Russo said.

So what are we expecting so far? Civil War will find Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) turning his back on the government and going up against Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) as the Avengers are split into two sides. There are already speculations that major characters could get killed off in the film, and the Civil War trailer has already shown War Machine (Don Cheadle) being badly injured.

Captain America: Civil War will premiere on May 6, 2016.
