'Honey Boo Boo' Engagement - Mama June's 16-year-old Daughter Lauryn's Propoal

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo might have gone off the air over a year ago, but it isn't stopping the stars of the family from living their lives. While the TLC series was cancelled in October of 2013, the family has definitely grown in more ways than one, with one of the daughter's announcing that she was expecting, and now another one revealing that she is engaged. Mama June Shannon's daughter, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, who just so happened to turn 16 earlier this month, has gotten engaged to her 19-year-old boyfriend Josh Efird.  Radar Online reported on the news, where they mentioned that Efird, who is a mechanic in the former reality star's hometown in Georgia, proposed to his girlfriend. In turn, Lauryn called him the "most amazing and important man in my life." The site also got some of the engagement details and reported that the couple, who has been together for about ten months, got engaged at a local seafood restaurant called Bay Breeze. Lauryn shared a picture of the engagement ring on her Instagram account below:

Despite the age gap and the short courtship, the couple has decided to go ahead with the marriage, which has Efird's grandmother voicing her concern. While she thinks that Shannon is a "really nice girl," she does say that she doesn't want them to get married just yet.

"I think they're too young for marriage," the grandma revealed. "I hope they have a long engagement."

While she might want them to have a "long engagement," that doesn't mean that she doesn't think fondly of Lauryn, in fact she even called her "very sweet," also mentioning "I love my grandson."

According to TMZ, Mama June also seems to be fond of her daughter's boyfriend, as the site is reporting that the matriarch of the family has taken a liking to Efird because he likes taking things slow, especially in the bedroom department, where they both are saving themselves for marriage.

It is also being reported that the two are waiting until Lauryn turns 18 to officially get hitched.
