The 'silence' is deafening.

The home that served as the lair for serial killer Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs is up for sale -- but potential buyers are steering clear.

When the three-story home hit the market last summer, there was a flurry of interest; owners Scott and Barbara Lloyd were besieged with inquiries.

But despite its place in film history, the house, located in the Pittsburgh suburb of Layton, hasn't budged.

The house, located in Layton, Pennsylvania, is listed for $249,000. While the owners received a massive amount of calls when they first placed it last summer, no one has actually purchased it.

According to NBC News, the 116-year-old Victorian has four bedrooms and one bathroom in a "cute neighborhood."

The Lloyds, a retired couple, allowed producers to film scenes for the movie in their home, including the iconic kitchen scene, in which FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) realizes that Bill (Ted Levine) is the killer.

However, the difficulty in selling the house isn't because Buffalo Bill crafted his skin suit there in 1991.  Realtor Dianne Wilk told NBC: "When it first went on the market, I got calls from across the country," Dianne Wilk of RE/MAX Select Realty told NBC News. "But how many people are going to relocate to Layton because of a home?"

"The thing is, it's a lovely, lovely home. And you know how people say George Washington slept in their home? Well, not many people can say they had a movie filmed in their house," Wilk said.
