Back by popular demand, Fox is just a few days away from the premiere of the upcoming revival of The X-Files. This is the prefect opportunity to check out why agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) are still must-see TV.

As we previously mentioned,13 years have passed since FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully were on the TV screen solving weird and supernatural cases. The reboot of Fox's popular sci-fi series continues with an all-new 6 episode arc. Not only are the two leads back to reprise their iconic roles, creator Chris Carter will takeover as showrunner once again for the franchise that launched his and many other careers.

Check out our 5 reasons why we really want to seeThe X-Files revival:

5) We Missed You!

13 years have passed and the world has definitely changed since the ninth season finale. Did you notice how X-Files paved the way for the serialized format with Lost? Carter went down the R-rated route with the Amazon pilot, The After. Duchovny had tons of sex of Californication and Anderson just killed it on Hannibal. It just wasn't the same seeing our favorite leads on different shows. And now the believer and skeptic back!

4) The Truth Is Out There!

Are there really monsters that go bump in the night? Do green bug-eyed aliens really exist? Is the government watching everyone, surveilling your every move? The answer is yes you bet there are. Your freedom has been forfeited for a sense of security. This sounds like the ravings of a paranoid, conspiracy nut. Mulder, the world needs you more than ever.

3) Who's They?!?

The six-arc miniseries has been divided between "mythology" episodes and "Monsters of the week," standalone episodes. In the ninth season finale, Mulder risked his life and discovered the specific date, 22 December 2012, of the alien invasion. I really hope the upcoming mythology episodes answers, What the hell happened? Plus who the hell are Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose are playing? Are why am I drawn to Annet Mahendru (The Americans) as Sveta?

2) Music To Your Ears!

This critic admits he has whistled a few bars of The X-Files theme while waiting for the train. production value has increased as each season passed but one thing has always remained the same, the music by composer Mark Snow. Not only does Snow know how to punch up the comedic moments, build the suspense, his tracks manage to creep you out senseless.

1) Begging For More!

This writer's all-time favorite episode of The X-Files is Closure. Remember that scene when Mulder ends up in the forest and finds the ghost of his missing sister, Samantha. And in the background Moby's My Weakness is playing. No, I'm not crying, you're crying! Are these 6 episodes going to top my favorite episode?

Bonus:

To be honest, six is not enough! Please let this show is a hit, so that there's an eleventh season.

The X-Files returns with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, January 24, 2016, following the NFC Championship Game. The event continues Monday, January 25, 2016 (8pm).

Readers, are you excited for the revival of The X-Files?
