Tracy Morgan is making his TV comeback, and not in a cameo or special appearance. The actor will star in an FX comedy that will be written by the hilarious Jordan Peele of Comedy Central's Key and Peele.

Fans of the hilarious comedian can rejoice; he will soon be cracking you up again on the small screen. The network announced the news that Morgan had signed on for the pilot during the TCA press tour. He will star as an ex-con who is trying to get his life back on track after spending 15 years in prison. Life on the outside will be quite the adjustment for his man whose main expertise is making a grilled cheese with an iron.

It was also revealed that Peele, along with Eastbound & Down's producer, John Carcieri, will write the pilot. Morgan, Peele and Carcieri will all be executive producers on the show. Eric Tannenbaum, who was a producer on Two and Half Men and Joel Zadak, who was a producer on Key and Peele, are also on board as EPs.

FX executive Nick Grad had this to say about the untitled comedy:

"What an unbeatable combination – Tracy Morgan and Jordan Peele – two exceptional comics joining forces with a great team of writers and producers to create and produce this pilot for FX Networks. We've been committed to Tracy from the start and are thrilled that Jordan, John, Eric and Joel are joining him in developing this new project."

There is no information on when the pilot is going to be shot or when it might end up on air. Based on what has been revealed, it seems like this new show is in the very beginning stages. However, it doesn't really matter how long it takes for viewers to get to see glimpse of the show, the great part is that when it does happen Morgan will be in it. After all that the former 30 Rock star has been through in the past year and a half it will be good to see him back in his element, making people laugh.
