A decade after That '70s Show ended its eight-year run in 2006, Michael Kelso and Steve Hyde are all grown up and teaming up for a new effort. That is, Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson are bringing a new show, The Ranch, to Netflix and they're counting on revolutionizing sitcoms with their new project!

Because of the currently ongoing Television Critics Association winter press tour, TV aficionados have been getting a lot of news about what's coming to the small screen, and with Netflix bringing in so many new projects, it's hardly a surprise to hear a little further about Kutcher and Masterson's new show.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two actors were on a TCA panel last Sunday to discuss their new show, which they claim is a twist to the extreme of the relationship between Hyde and Kelso in the period sitcom.

"Our favorite stuff on 70s Show was the Hyde-Kelso relationship of domination and abuse," said Masterson. "So when the show was coming together, it was kind of like, 'Let's find adult versions of those guys,' a little more realistic, but keeping that dynamic of how our comedy works together."

Besides the "domination and abuse" relationship between the two characters of the show, the two friends' dynamic was also disrupted for another reason: Jackie Burkhart, played by Kutcher's now-wife Mila Kunis, dated both characters.

In any case, the crew has remained close in the years after the show ended, and Kutcher also called Masterson "an absolute mentor" to him, both personally and professionally, after he became one of Hollywood's biggest stars.

Deadline reports that Kutcher also expressed his satisfaction with working with Netflix, saying that while the show will retain the traditional sitcom format, they're also looking to experiment away from the 22-minute time frame, besides playing with lighting and music traditions in the format.

The Ranch, currently in pre-production, will see Kutcher playing a football player who returns home to run the family business along with his brother, Masterson. For now, we know that Sam Elliott has also been cast as their father and Debra Winger as the mother.
