The 2016 Oscars nominations have come under lots of steam as this year marks the second year in a row that not one single person of color has made the cut. This is the first time in nearly 10 years the entire slate of nominees is White. Black Twitter as well as several Black celebrities are speaking out against the lack of diversity. Jada Pinkett Smith has been among the most verbal stars in venting her frustrations. Check out her "boycott the Oscars" video on Facebook in honor of MLK Day.

Jada Pinkett Smith, best known as wife of actor, Will Smith and for her roles in Set It Off and The Nutty Professor is using her voice to spread awareness about the Oscars 2016 injustices. Pinkett-Smith made it clear that she is not planning to attend or watch the Oscars and questions whether or not any of her followers should attend. In a nearly 3-minute Facebook video, Jada encourages her followers by saying "We must stand in our power."

As the wife of Will Smith, Pinkett-Smith and the entire Smith family is likely feeling the disappointment from the Oscars snub of Smith's latest film, Concussion. As previously covered by MStars, Jada took to her Facebook page, making several powerful statements about the injustice of the Oscars.

Over the course of 3 posts, Pinkett-Smith said, "At the Oscars...people of color are always welcomed to give out awards...even entertain, but we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments. Should people of color refrain from participating all together? People can only treat us in the way which we allow. With much respect in the midst of deep disappointment. J"

To further stand her ground in opposition of the 2016 Oscars, she released the empowering video below to remind her followers on Martin Luther King's birthday that African Americans should not seek the approval of a non-inclusive film Academy but exercise their own power by recognizing themselves.

She is joined by a running list of Black influentials, including legendary Spike Lee who plan to boycott the 2016 Oscars.
