Several reports confirm that rapper Gucci Mane is currently wanted for assault for allegedly hitting a soldier over the head with a champagne bottle at an Atlanta nightclub on March 15. The victim (identified only as James) claims that when he tried to get a photo with the 1017 Brick Squad Records star, he was slammed over the head with the glass bottle - resulting in a severe wound that required 10 stitches. An active arrest warrant is now out for Mane's arrest.

The soldier told WSBTV that on the night of the assault, he approached a security guard manning Mane's exclusive VIP section at the club. James tried to explain that he was in the military and only wanted a picture with the rapper when Mane (real name, Radric Davis) allegedly struck him over the head with the heavy bottle.

The solider stated, “I was speaking to the security guard, and Gucci Mane hit me in the head with a bottle. And as I looked at him in the shock of why, one of his friends hit me in the side of my face.”

James continued explaining, “That is dangerous because if there was to be any other fan trying to approach him, ain’t no telling what else he might do to them... He could have possibly killed me. I just hope and pray that I recover pretty well because I still want to serve my military career.”

The soldier was later treated at Grady Memorial Hospital and received 10 stitches.

James says he is in the Army and was stationed in Afghanistan until last October. He was enjoying a fun night out on the town in Atlanta with friends when the violent encounter occurred.

According to Atlanta Police Department Lt. Jeff Cantin, "We do have an active warrant for Mr. Davis for aggravated assault. So I'm sure after he sees this, I'm sure he'll want to reach out and contact us." The arrest warrant was issued on March 22.

Mane was in the club promoting his new mix-tapes entitled "Trap Back 2" and "East Atlanta Memphis." In the past, the infamous "Trap House" rapper has been arrested for battery, probation violation, and reckless driving. In 2011, Mane served a six-month jail sentence and was finally released on December 11, 2011.

Gucci Mane can currently be seen in the teen movie "Spring Breakers" alongside Selena Gomez and James Franco:
