Arrow killed off Tommy Merlyn in the Season 1 finale, but fans have been waiting for Colin Donnell to return to the show in some capacity. Could he return on DC's Legends of Tomorrow? The actor weighs in on that possibility in a new interview.

Donnell has returned to Arrow a few times since his death, once as a ghost/vision to Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and twice more in flashbacks. But now that Legends of Tomorrow will introduce time travel into the DC television universe, could we see the actor bring the character to life again? TVLine asked that very question in an interview with Donnell.

"I'm all down for it," he said. "I would be so happy to be back on Arrow or on Legends of Tomorrow, in whatever capacity. There's got to be something where an evil Tommy pops up. I want him to be totally different than what he was before."

This led the site to ask if we could see a version of Tommy Merlyn from Earth-Two over on The Flash.

"Yes! That would be amazing!" he replied. "We need to talk to [executive producers] Marc [Guggenheim] and Andrew [Kreisberg]. How do we make this happen? I need a day off from Med first... I love those guys. I've always said, any time they've got stuff for me, if it works out with the schedule, I would love to come back, and even more so now. I haven't felt like I've left the family in any way."

Donnell referred to Chicago Med, on which he currently stars.

The beauty of this DC television universe is that it allows for actors like Donnell and characters like Tommy Merlyn to return in creative ways. We could see Tommy Merlyn in the past in Star City in the Arrow world, or we could see a totally different version of the character from Earth Two thanks to The Flash. Either way, it's always a pleasure to see him back on the air.

Do you think Tommy Merlyn will return and if so, how? Let us know in the comments section below.
