Bollywood's Deepika Padukone has delighted her fans with performances in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani with Ranveer Singh and even her award-winning performance in Piku alongside Irrfan Khan. In a recent interview, Padukone confesses her love for superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Padukone first shared the screen with Khan in the reincarnation of Om Shanti Om in 2007. The film was set against the backdrop of the Hindi Film Industry and it told the story of a struggling actor (Khan) in the late 70s who dies soon after witnessing the alleged murder of the actress (Padukone) he loved. When Padukone was casted with Khan, the young actress told Times of India that it was wonderful working with Khan.

"I've grown up watching Khan and always admired him so much. To get to work with him...is quite wonderful. It was also fantastic that Farah Khan showed faith in my talent and cast me opposite him."

Padukone then shared the screen with Khan in Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express. Padukone played Meenalochini Azhagusundaram, a Tamilian girl who runs away from her father who is a local don and accidentally meets Khan.

In 2014, Padukone again worked with Khan in action-heist comedy film, Happy New Year. In the film, Padukone played a bar dancer who trains a group of underachievers for a dance competition.

When Khan announced that his film Dilwale would release alongside Padukone's Bajirao Mastani there were rumors that the two have drifted apart. But recently, Padukone sent out a tweet to Khan and confessed how much she missed him. Even Khan's reply to her was very heart warming.

These two tweets from the stars showed the world that there was nothing bad going on between the two and they are still very close. In a recent interview, when a reporter asked Padukone about her tweet to Khan, the 30-year-old actress was quoted by Bollywood Life as responding:

"I find it ridiculous that people try to create a situation that doesn't exist. I will always love him. I am very protective of him, and I was really missing him when I tweeted. We have done such special work together, and when we do films, promotions are something that we really look forward to because we have a lot of fun. I was missing him, and I know he was missing me. That's how well I know him."

Padukone later admitted that there will never be any problem between her and Khan as there will be no one who can come in their way.
