While Sarah Palin was busy endorsing Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump, news of her son Track's assault arrest was going national.

According to the New York Daily News, court documents revealed that Palin's eldest son got into a drunken fight with his girlfriend earlier this week at the former governor of Alaska's home.

Track Palin, 26, was arrested for "battering his girlfriend" Monday night, police said. Palin was scheduled to go to court Tuesday afternoon for charges that included "fourth-degree assault, interfering with the report of a domestic violence crime and possession of a firearm while intoxicated," all Class A misdemeanors.

"An investigation revealed Track Palin had committed a domestic assault on a female, interfered with her ability to report a crime of domestic violence, and possessed a firearm while intoxicated," Wasilla cops said. "Palin was held without bail until arraignment."

Track Palin allegedly punched the woman and threatened to kill himself with an assault rifle. The former vice presidential hopeful's son allegedly yelled out while holding the gun, "Do you think I'm a p-y? Do you think I won't do it?"

Track Palin, an Army veteran was previously married to his high school sweetheart, Britta Hanson. He is the father of one daughter, Kyla. Palin and Hanson divorced in 2012 after a year of marriage.

Palin's girlfriend was not arrested or charged after Monday's incident.

According to NBC News, the argument started after Palin learned that his girlfriend of one year had been in contact with her ex-boyfriend that day.
