Charlie Day Claims ‘It’s Always Sunny’ Pilot was Shot for Nothing, Report of $200 is False

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Charlie Day appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night and admitted that it's possible FX has no clue The Gang is still making series that made them famous. He also debunked that ever-so-famous (for Sunny fans, that is) rumor that the pilot episode was shot for $200.

Apparently the real cost was, well, nothing.

"We shot it for nothing," Day told Colbert. He further admitted that "they"—meaning the press—claimed the actors had to put a price on the pilot or else it simply wouldn't be believable.

"I don't know where this $200 came from. ... We were a bunch of kids with cameras running around shooting each other and [the] next thing you know, we're 11 years in and we're still doing the show."

With Season 11 currently airing on FXX, Day told Colbert that It's Always Sunny has officially been picked up for Season 12.

The fan-favorite series, which also stars Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson, Rob McElhenney and Danny DeVito, recently won a People's Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Comedy. Unfortunately the cast wasn't there to accept the award...because they didn't know about it.

And because they aren't people, though they are humans.

Fellow It's Always Sunny star Danny DeVito recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the new season (not that it needs it), playing an interesting game of Charades with Kocktails with Khloe star and host Khloe Kardashian. DeVito was matched with Kardashian while Fallon teamed up with The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus. It was, as we said, interesting.

And naturally, the guests came out on top.
