As the 2016 presidential election comes closer and closer there are several on the left who appear to believe Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders could very well take the Democratic nomination, thus beating out the ever-so-hopeful favorite, Hillary Clinton. After a stellar performance at Sunday night's Democratic debate, Sen. Sanders is celebrating his new rise in poll numbers, particularly among young voters.

To explain why the hopeful is appealing to those voters, Late Night with Seth Meyers decided to take A Closer Look, and upon doing so, it seems that it all comes down to a few things: 1) Sanders is in The Betty White Zone, 2) Killer Mike loves the guy, and 3) He flies coach.

Yes, it's true; Sen. Sanders has time and time again been photographed sitting coach while campaigning around the country. But of course, that's not all of the appeal.

Though it is pretty damn appealing.

Meyers' Closer Look segment focused in on the fact that younger voters are "Feeling the Bern" as the nominations near. It seems that after his performance at the Democratic debate, Sanders is leading on the polls in both Iowa and New Hampshire, which has many Hillary Clinton supporters—perhaps including Hillary herself—fearing 2008 yet again.

Back when she was running for the POTUS seat the first time, Clinton was again leading in the polls...until a young charismatic politician by the name of Barack Obama came in and completely took the presidency out from under her.

Despite the past and possible future, Clinton appears confident in the present that she'll be the favorite considering that Iowa and New Hampshire were already strong states for the Vermont senator. As Meyers notes, once things get down to the mid and southwestern end of the country, we could see a shift.

Then again, who would have thought Sanders could come this far?
