Deadpool, 20th Century Fox's first R-rated Marvel superhero flick starring Ryan Reynolds, is not set to be released until Feb. 12. However, some lucky fans have been treated to surprise screenings of the film, and have tweeted their thoughts out on Twitter. So did the film impress or flop? Read on to find out!

So far, the reviews seem to be overwhelmingly positive. One fan said the film was "everything I was hoping for from the Merc with a Mouth." Another compared it to the comedy-horror film Shaun of the Dead, saying it is a "great, dramatic horror movie that is also hilarious. Deadpool is the same [but] for superheroes."

Others agreed, calling the film "amazing" and "the best Marvel movie." Several people echoed the latter statement, with another saying, "Officially one of my favorite Marvel movies of all time. So good!"

People seemed to enjoy the more adult humor, something that's been sorely lacking in most superhero films, which up until now have been largely rated PG-13. The audience also praised the action, calling it "exciting" and "flawless."

Fans took the time to mention the hilarious opening credits scene and to remind people to stay for the after credits scene, which has become a staple in Marvel films.

So far no one has taken to Twitter to post negative things about the film, but it's important to note that these were fan screenings, not press ones. No doubt the studio is attempting to leak good press well in advance of reviews being pushed out. Traditionally, R-rated films are harder to sell at the box office, so the film can use all of the good publicity it can get to bolster its box office haul.

In the film, Reynolds plays Wade Wilson, also known as Deadpool, a mentally unstable mercenary in the Marvel Universe. The film will be released in theaters Valentine's Day weekend.
