It has been a rough couple of months for former star of The Hills, Kristin Cavallari, as the star has been in mourning following the tragic death of her brother Michael. Now the star has just found herself in a pretty scary situation. It is being reported that the reality star turned lifestyle guru has been hospitalized following a car accident in Chicago, where she lives with her husband, NFL quarterback, Jay Cutler and the couple's three children.

According to TMZ, the star was brought to the hospital on Thursday, January 21 following her car being struck by another car.  Us Weekly is also reporting on the scary situation, saying that following the crash, Cavallari was brought to a nearby hospital where her husband Cutler met up with her.

TMZ is also reporting that the injuries are not too serious and that thankfully the couple's three kids were not in the car at the time of collision. Cutler and Cavallari are parents to Camden, 2, Jaxon, 20 months, and Saylor, who they just welcomed into the world 2 months ago.

Us Weekly gave an update on the situation shortly after posting the story, saying, "She was hit by another driver in Chicago. She is doing fine and will be discharged form the hospital shortly."

The sad news comes shortly after the star suffered a rough 2015, including the death of brother Michael who was found dead on December 10, two weeks after going missing in Utah.

Yet, the starlet had high hopes for 2016, as her New Year's Instagram post was looking ahead to the future, hoping it would bring happiness.

"2015 brought my sweet, baby girl but it also took my brother's life," the star wrote. "Hoping for no extreme highs and lows this year. Happy new year, everyone."
