According to a Bloomberg report, Facebook Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg is about to form a political advocacy group that would draw focus to topics such as "immigration, the economy, education and scientific research funding, according to a person familiar with the matter." This new political party will incorporate others from within the technology community according to a source who asked to remain anonymous. So, yes, this is just a rumor as of now, but the founder of Facebook starting his own political party is definitely within the realm of possibility as of late.

The Facebook founder has apparently already signed a fews high-profile political consultants including former Clinton White House press secretary Joe Lockhart and former executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee Rob Jesmer.

Zuckerberg has recently shown plenty of interest in politics. Just last month, the social media mogul invited New Jersey Governor Chris Christie out to his California home for a fundraiser to reelect the politician. Two months before the Christie fundraiser, Mark and his wife, Priscilla Chan, donated about $500 million in Facebook stock to a charity supporting education and health causes. Also In 2011, the 28-year-old billionaire hosted President Barack Obama at a town-hall meeting at Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, California. He even appeared with the President on stage as questions were fielded. Zuckerberg even donated $100 million toward the New Jersey public school system in 2010.

Immigration reform has been a hot issue for technology companies who wish to provide Visas for more high-tech workers. Though according to these unnamed sources, Mark Zuckerberg is interested in getting citizenship for illegal immigrants already here.

What do you think of Zuckerberg's turn into politics? Is this a smart move for the billionaire? How will it affect his business? Do you agree with his stances? Will this bring on another Facebook update that people will hate? That last one was a joke but it could happen!
