Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has already released enough spoiler-filled trailers to confirm that the film will feature two major DC supervillains: Lex Luthor, who will be played by Jesse Eisenberg and Doomsday, the twisted reincarnation of Michael Shannon's Man of Steel character General Zod. Now director Zack Snyder has discussed the role the two characters will play in the movie.

Snyder recently spoke to Empire magazine (via GeekTyrant), where he offered a hint to what Lex will be up to in Batman v Superman.

"You learn pretty early on that Lex is interested in metahuman existence, and that there might be some relationship between that investigation and the appearance of Diana Prince," Snyder said.

It certainly sounds like Lex already knows enough to bring Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman out of retirement. However, it may also mean that the villain has already discovered about forensic scientist and secret metahuman Barry Allen, who will be played by Ezra Miller in the movie. There have been rumors that Miller's cameo in the film will be in a scene where Bruce taps into Lex's files to see what the villain is up to.

Lex isn't the only one that Snyder wanted to talk about. He also spoke about the villain Lex created in the Batman v Superman trailer. The director revealed that Doomsday was added to the lineup as a worthy adversary for the two superheroes.

"To go up against heroes like Batman and Superman, we wanted to introduce one of the DC Universe's most iconic and powerful villains," Snyder said. "He is essentially an unstoppable force. He poses a real threat to the world within the film."

Lex and Doomsday may not be the only villains that will appear in Batman v Superman, as there have been speculations that a third villain will have a brief cameo in the film.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will crash into theaters on March 25.
