WGN America airs the premiere of their new original series, Outsiders. In episode 1, the pilot entitled Farrell Wine, Big Foster (David Morse) and Little Foster (Ryan Hurst) are trying to defend their mountaintop homestead before the outside world takes it away from them.

Sheriff Wade Houghton (Thomas J. Wright) listens to a group of corporate developers, who want to take over the mountaintop. The Farrell Clan have been living on the land, but now the property belongs to the cooperation. Wade warns that the Farrell Clan will fight back if they discover their terrain is in danger.

Big Foster and Little Foster end up taking Hasil (Kyle Gallner) as they make their way to town. As the rest of the clan drives off in ATVs, Hasil finds himself attracted to Sally-Ann (Christina Jackson). Sally-Ann has never seen anyone like Hasil as she becomes smitten with him as well.

Back at the mountaintop, Asa (Joe Anderson) is locked in a cage. Asa pleads with Big Foster and Little Foster to let him go. Asa has returned to the mountain safter a decade in the outside world. He spend his time in the cage to redeem himself and prove that he wants to become part of the family again.

G'Winn Farrell (Gillian Alexy) used to be lovers with Asa but now she is with Little Foster. She waits till Little Foster is gone to have a private talk with Asa.

While on his date with Sally-Ann, Hasil realizes he need money, which the Farrell clan has never needed. Basil has the bright idea of getting cash through moonshine. Unfortunately, the teens who buys his moonshine don't realize the stuff is poisoned.

Big Foster has a meeting with the elder in charge, Lady Ray (Phyllis Somerville). The elder says Big Foster cannot be the leader of the Clan, because Asa is the rightful heir. Filled with anger, Big Foster knocks out the elder and starts to strangle her.

As G'Winn releases  Asa from his cage, Wade investigates the death of the young teen. After figuring out the death came about from drinking Hasil's moonshine, the sheriff knows he has to go after the Farrells. Elsewhere, Big Foster is planning his next big heist but Hasil isn't there; his little boy has to take his place.

During the heist gone wrong, Big Foster's boy ends up getting hit with a bullet. Grieving over his son's death, Big Foster grabs Hasil and makes his pay for leaving his post. Basil screams as Big Foster brings down the axe.

On the run, Asa finds himself in the woods, staring at the wolves coming in. Asa knows what he has to do next.
