Kris Jenner has had a huge career since the O.J. Simpson trial, becoming the "momager" to one of the most famous families in Hollywood and a reality star on Keeping up with the Kardashians. Back in the early 90's, she was a friend of Nicole Brown's, and as American Crime Story's premiere nears (where Selma Blair plays Jenner), Kim Kardashian's mother confesses feeling guilty over Brown's death.

The matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner clan recently spoke to People Magazine about her relationship with the Simpsons, whom she met through her first husband, lawyer Robert Kardashian, when she was just 17 years old. The Kardashians and the Simpsons were close friends for two decades, though the history of abuse between them (like how Nicole had called 911 when O.J. beat her) was completely unknown to Jenner, and she still feels like she missed something before the murder.

"That was stuff I didn't know anything about. I beat myself up because I felt like I wasn't paying attention. Like, how did I miss this?" Jenner recounted about hearing from the abuse for the first time during the trial. "But that's typical in an abusive relationship -- that the woman doesn't speak out about how she's being treated."

The first season of American Crime Story, which will be released on FX next February, will be dedicated to the infamous Simpson murder trial, and it looks like Jenner's role will be a fairly large one. The part of her ex-husband, the father of her four eldest children as well as one of the members of Simpson's dream team, will be played by Friends alum David Schwimmer.

According to Vanity Fair, Jenner also said that, while she knows the new series will stir up some unpleasant moments in her life, it's all for a good cause, as it will introduce a new generation to the story hopefully prevent other women from suffering like Brown did.
